Me, Myself, And I

As an NYU Journalism student, a reporter, and a photographer based in New York and Beijing, I am passionate to cover stories about Chinese communities in America.

I got my first big break as a student reporter at Beijing Youth Daily in 2011, and since then I’ve been developing my skills while covering important and interesting stories. As an honest and responsible reporter, I’ll go wherever I need to in order to get the facts straight and the story right.

I like listening to rap music in my spare time, and I have learned to produce rap beat myself from YouTube. My music can be downloaded on Soundcloud, Netease music, and QQ Music.

If every place has a taste, then the J-Mart supermarket at New World Mall in Flushing would taste like a mixture of fresh scallion, Chongqing hot pot sauce, Peking roast duck, and mandarin tangerines.
Cathy Yan, 56, is the owner of Ju Feng Yuan, a Chinese restaurant that is located in Flushing, New York.

"For me, switching my role from a chef to the owner of a restaurant is just like putting on or taking off the bib apron: not that easy at first, but I've got used to it now." Yan said.

"Only Szechuan peppercorn has such an intense fragrance, citrus-like flavor and can produce a 'tingly-numbing' sensation in the mouth."
"I don't celebrate the Flag Day, but I do respect the American flag. I think the flag represents royalty. I don't know why I chose this word, but when I look at the flag here in Washington Square Park, it is the only word that appeared in my mind. I don't hang a flag on the wall, but I have an American flag bookmark; it was a gift from my granddaughter. I'm still using it." Glenn Taylor, 85, said.
Everything in By Chloe is designed to be adorable and vegan-friendly. Outside the restaurant, the awning is covered by black and white strips. The menu is colored with pictures of cartoon kale, juicy grapes, hot tea, a line of bolded words: Let's Guac Till We Drop, and the puns "drop us a beet."
